Tours are led in a 21-passenger air-conditioned bus, and follow the Androscoggin River before heading in the 13-Mile Woods in search of the giant of the North Country.

Maybe it's their size: an adult male moose can stand around six or seven feet tall at the shoulders and weigh 800 to 1,500 pounds, while an adult female 600 to 800. Or perhaps its how well they blend into their surroundings. Tours depart from the Gorham Information Booth on the Town Common off Route 16 and run from late May through early October. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for children ages 5-12 and $5 for those family members 4 and under.
